Which One Should You Get?
If you travel internationally, Global Entry is the better choice — it includes TSA PreCheck and only costs $22 more. The time saved clearing customs after a long international flight is worth far more than the price difference.
If you only fly domestically, TSA PreCheck is sufficient and has a slightly faster approval process.
Pro Tips
- Global Entry requires an in-person interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. Many major airports have “Enrollment on Arrival” — you can complete your interview when returning from an international trip.
- The credit typically refreshes every 4 years. Set a calendar reminder so you don't forget to renew and use the credit.
